Fort Garry MB Women’s Ministry parallels its vision & purpose with that of the larger church body: To create a growing community of people by passionately following Jesus, intentionally nurturing caring relationships, brining Christ to people & being a driving force in the community.

We desire to:

* Provide a community of grace & accountability where women can be themselves & have the freedom to be all that God created them to be.

* Assist women in identifying & developing their gifts.

* Equip women to build God’s kingdom.

* Encourage women to pursue passions planted in them by God.

FGMB Women’s Ministry Leadership Team:

Val Penner (team leader):

Val is a domestic engineer (aka stay-at-home mom) with two fabulous munchkins (ages 4 & 6) & a wonderful hubby, all of whom keep her hopping.  A coffee addict with a love for photography, card making, gardening & family, she is also passionate about women’s ministry & is so excited to see what God has in store for herself & the women around her.

Irma Charney:

Irma is a mother of two adult children and a wife to Bruce.  She continues to work part time as a Registered Nurse in a Winnipeg core area clinic.  She also has her own nursing foot care business with most of her clients being senior citizens.

Irma enjoys reading, sunsets, entertaining & traveling.  Her passion is ministering to women & has contributed for a number of years in this way, most recently at Fort Garry MB on their Women’s Ministry Team.

Laurel Wiebe:

Laurel is married to Ken & they have two teenage boys.  She is also business owner of Just GiftBaskets, which specializes in creating exquisite custom gift baskets for every special occasion.  A tea-drinker & green thumb in the garden, Laurel’s passions also include tennis, camping, & reading.
